Hello
Born and raised in Belgium, I've been coaching at InnerFight in Dubai since 2015. My fitness journey started back in 2012 at CrossFit Antwerpen, while I was still a student pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition. While juggling work, training, and studying, I realized that going all-in on my fitness journey was the best path for me. In 2019, I decided to shift my focus towards becoming a better coach and exploring different methods to help people reach their fitness goals.
My Story
From a young age, I had a passion for being active and playing outside with the neighborhood kids. Despite my mother’s wish for me to be a “girly girl,” I was drawn to the TV show “Xena Warrior Princess,” which inspired me to start gymnastics at the age of eight. I excelled at gymnastics, and my natural flexibility allowed me to pick up new movements quickly, resulting in me being invited to join the competition group where I trained 12-15 hours per week. Although I enjoyed the training, I found it to be brutal and time-consuming. After four years of hard work, I was able to compete at a national level.

Looking back, I am grateful for the coaches I had during my gymnastics training, as they each left an impression on me that shaped me into the person and coach I am today. Unfortunately, I had to quit gymnastics at the age of 12 after breaking my wrist doing a backhand on the balance beam.

As a teenager, I frequented the skatepark and discovered breakdancing, which I intermittently practiced for the next five years. My background in gymnastics proved to be useful in learning breakdancing moves, and I enjoyed the freedom of expression that came with breakdancing.

In 2012, a friend introduced me to CrossFit, which sparked my interest in a new athletic challenge. After completing my first workout, which consisted of 100 pull-ups for time with 15 burpees for each break, I was hooked and began training every day. A few months later, I competed in my first CrossFit competition, which ignited my competitive spirit, and I told my coach that I wanted to take it more seriously and make it to Regionals the following year.

In 2013, I was the fittest in Belgium and made it to CrossFit Regionals in Copenhagen. In 2014, I traveled to the US to train with the big dogs at CrossFit Conjugate, where I was introduced to the Westside Barbell conjugate system, which became my training method. Over the next two years, I grew as an athlete and started to perform better on the competition floor. In 2015, I placed 6th at Europe Regionals, missing out on just one spot to make it to the Games.

A new opportunity arose when I was offered a job as a performance coach in Dubai at InnerFight. By the end of 2015, I had moved to Dubai, where I could train with other top-level athletes and access better facilities. I remained the fittest in my country and qualified for Regionals every year.

In 2019, after seven years of hard work, I finally qualified for the CrossFit Games. This was the pinnacle of my athletic career, and I was happy to retire from competitive fitness.

Retirement from athletics allowed me to focus on other things, primarily my coaching career. I used this time to study courses focused on training women around their menstrual cycle, as well as pre and postpartum training. Nowadays, my main focus is helping women get stronger, feel good in their bodies, and teaching them how to create balance through exercise, healthy eating habits, and a positive mindset.
